Life in Polillo is simple and peaceful. However, despite the beauty it has to offer, life on the island is not easy especially in the coastal barangay’. Since most families are fishermen, they barely have money to put food on the table, more so to buy school materials for their kids.
In my recent visit to Brgy. Bucao on my home island, I saw that kids have to walk far to go to school and because it was raining, most of them are already wet when they arrived at the school. A teacher told me that many don’t have raincoats or even bags to put their things on. I thought it was a perfect opportunity to bless these pupils.
I am raising school bags with raincoats for 140 pupils of Bucao Elementary School and I am calling all my friends, family, and Polillians around the world to help me make this happen for these children. Thank you in advance!
