My experience as an educator made me aware of the different challenges encountered by our learners. Some of which are their lack of motivation to attend school because they have empty stomach, insufficient school paraphernalia, and some of them need to work just to have an allowance for their “baon” and school projects. This condition prompted me to initiate this project which aims to help children so they can attend school regularly.
In the present scenario, Andres Bonifacio Elementary School has 260 enrollees, 234 or 90% of the pupils belong to low-income families. And out 234 pupils almost 75% frequently absent from class because they need to earn money for their school expenses. It is on this premise that, I being as school head, crafted Project BAG “Bring Affection by Giving” through the collaborative effort of my co teachers, PTA, Barangay Officials to help those indigent pupils.
Project BAG generally aims to help the indigent children to acquire school bag and school supplies in collaboration with “BEAGIVER” a social enterprise whose advocacy is to help learners and all Filipino citizens especially those who are underprivileged during this time of COVID19.
With your support and generosity, I’m looking forward to seeing school children at Andres Bonifacio Elementary School happy, encouraged and and enthusiastic to learn again.
Thank you so much in advance!
