Since our favorite season of the year is just a few months away, here’s a campaign for the students of the FIRST Teach Anywhere community learning class in Purok Doldol, Zamboanga Sibugay!
Inspired by the Teaching at the Right Level program of Pratham Education Foundation in South Africa, Teacher Mahsher Shariff Cammah and fellow teachers adapted the program to their community in Kabasalan to provide support to students in need of learner-centered guidance to improve their literacy and numeracy skills.
In partnership with AHA Learning Center and the Yellow Boat of Hope Foundation, Teacher Mahsher’s community learning center started last September 1 with a little more than 20 students. Now, it has grown to almost a hundred, and Teacher Mahsher is expecting it to grow even more in the weeks to come considering the number of parents knocking in the open doors of Teacher Mahsher’s free learning center.
After learning all of these, who wouldn’t be compelled to do something for this inspiring community? Through this campaign, we aim to raise 100 school bags which we will give to the students of Purok Doldol as gifts this Christmas to further motivate them to pursue learning.
We hope you’d support our campaign and help us show this humble community, the hardworking team of Teacher Mahsher Shariff, and of course, their dear students that there are people outside their community who believe that they will reach their dreams.
