Since the implementation of the ‘Enhanced Community Quarantine in Bohol’ Province, a lot of workers have been displaced, especially those who are working in the tourism industry. As much as the establishments are willing to help, they are also greatly affected and so help is very limited for our poor workers, including tricycle drivers and street sweepers. Currently, the gov’t rolled out a program to help these affected people, but we are certain that it will not be enough, as the social and economic impact of this pandemic will be medium-term. With that, I and my friends thought of initiating this campaign which we collectively call #WeGiveAsOne in hopes of reaching out to our friends who have the extra resources and compassionate hearts for the affected poor families.
The food pack will be enough to sustain a family or 4-5 for at least one week. It will contain:
5kgs Rice, 5 noodles, 2-3kgs vegetables and root crops, 3 Sardines, 500g Sugar, 1 Box Tableya, 1 Sliced Bread, 200g Corn Coffee. Most items are locally sourced, and so this will also help the affected farmers earn income by buying from them.
We are initially targeting 100 families but may increase the number if more friends and family will help. This is surely not enough as it can only sustain them for a week, but we hope that it will be of great help already to them, along with the other help that they may get from the government and private sector.
Thank you so much in advance. We appreciate your help!
