I have always been a dreamer. I am Louie Tolentino, born and raised in Brgy. Parang, Calapan, Mindoro. I had a happy childhood where my parents taught me to find joy in the little things. The only time I anticipate to receive new things is during the start of classes but over the years, it was a choice between food and a new school bag. That’s the reason why I always have to use either a worn out bag or a plastic bag to house my school supplies.
Poverty has taught me the value of education, and all the challenges that I’ve been through brought me to this kind of life that was once only a dream. Whenever I go back to my community, I can’t help but see myself with those kids with seemingly limited opportunities. I hope that giving them a backpack and sharing my story with them will make them realize that NOTHING IS IMPOSSIBLE and maybe inspire them to also pay it forward one day.
With your help, I am raising 200 bags for impoverished school children of Inarawan National High School, Naujan and Parang Elementary School, Calapan City, Oriental Mindoro.
